Musa Aman not giving up on Sabah CM post

Former Sabah chief minister Musa Aman will appeal against today's court decision which set aside his summons seeking a declaration that he is the state's rightful chief minister.
Saying that the issue was more than just about him being chief minister, Musa said he had instructed his lawyers to make the appeal following the Kota Kinabalu High Court's ruling.
"I thank the court, my family, my legal team and our loyal supporters for upholding and respecting Sabah’s constitution.
"We are, of course, disappointed with today’s decision. However, this issue goes beyond whether I am the chief minister or not.
"This is about the sanctity and proper interpretation of Sabah’s constitution and the Yang di-Pertua’s powers to appoint and dismiss a chief minister.
"I am of the view that these issues have not been fully resolved today and I have instructed my lawyers to appeal today’s decision," he said in a statement to the media.
Earlier today, Kuching-based High Court judge Yew Jen Kie made a ruling setting aside Musa's suit against Yang di-Pertua Negeri Juhar Mahiruddin and Warisan Sabah party president Shafie Apdal in which Musa had challenged the latter's appointment as the Sabah chief minister on May 12.
Sabah-based daily The Borneo Post in its online report said the court also ordered Musa to pay RM15,000 in costs each to Juhar and Shafie. - Mkini
