Actor Farid Kamil mocks Lokman for lodging police, not MACC report

Actor-cum-director Farid Kamil Zahari (above) has mocked Umno supreme council member Lokman Noor Adam for lodging a report against him for alleged corruption with the police instead of with the MACC.
"He should have lodged the report with the MACC, let them do the work. What for the police? The report has no use. (You) are already old and stupid," he told Malaysiakini when contacted last night.
It was reported that a man, representing Lokman, had lodged a report against Farid at the Kota Damansara police station yesterday over a YouTube video purportedly of Farid claiming to have been offered RM5 million by quarters allegedly representing former premier Najib Abdul Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor.
According to the report, cited by Malaysiakini, the complainant had alleged that Farid fabricated the story to bring down Najib and Rosmah's image.
The report also stated that Farid made the comments during a live interview on a television programme which was later uploaded onto the video sharing site.
The complainant further alleged that the "Tombiruo: Penunggu Rimba" actor lied as the latter failed to lodge a corruption report on the alleged incident and name those responsible.
When contacted today, Lokman confirmed the report was made on his behalf and said he will present himself at the police station if he is called to give a statement.
Meanwhile, Farid claimed to possess evidence supporting his claim.
He said: "I have the picture of the person who offered the money and the location (where it happened)."
The actor claimed not to know the true motivation of the man whom he called "Datuk Seri" and who had approached him with the alleged offer claiming to know the former prime minister and spouse.
"So I had a doubt. The question is, why such a big intention that you bring RM5 million just to seek forgiveness for Najib and Rosmah?
"That made me think that it was a sign something bad might happen in my life," Farid said, alleging further that many other artists had been "silenced by money".
"There are those who received money in a bag as big as a tissue box [...] the MACC must investigate that."
Police have said they will be calling up the actor to facilitate investigations under Section 500 of the Penal Code for defamation. - Mkini
